About Cangiano's Marketplace

Located at 225 Pavonia Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07302, Cangiano's Marketplace operates as a burger serving Jersey City in New Jersey. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Jersey City will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in New Jersey usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 7 am–7 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (201) 984-2212. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, cangianosfinefoods.com.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 552 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded burgers & sandwiches in Jersey City.

Jersey City is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Jersey City peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The bread really stands out to make this a superior sandwich. They got all the toppings. I couldn’t decide so I went with a #19. Don’t remember what it’s called but it was good. I was gonna eat half and take the rest home. Safe to say that didn’t happen. I at the whole thing in one sitting. Thanks Cangianos

Listen… I walked in here like “lemme see what the hype is about 👀” and walked out like *okaaaay CARGIANO’S, I see you* 😌 First of all — this place has been holding it DOWN since 1919… like WHAT?! If you been rocking since 1919, mi amor, I **have** to come see what’s going on. That alone made me wanna pull up 👏🏽 And let me tell you… I walked from Jersey City Heights down to downtown — not a bad walk at all, un chin de cardio before breakfast 💅🏽🐕. Real “treat yourself, mi amor” type of morning. Soon as I walked in… BABYYYY I felt like I got teleported straight into a little Italian market 🇮🇹✨ Shelves full of Italian goodies — pastas, oils, snacks… I was like *yo quiero todo esto* 😂 It was giving *ciao bella, benvenuti, mangia mangia* vibes all day. The staff? Súper nice. No attitude, no rush — just good energy. I told them it was my first time and asked what they’re known for, and they really put me on 👏🏽 No gatekeeping over here. My husband got the #7 (on a roll) I got the #8 (on a bagel) We sat outside and did what married people do… switched sandwiches halfway 😏😂 Now listen… mine was good — turkey, egg, pesto… she was cute, she had flavor, estaba bien 💁🏽‍♀️ BUT HIS?! 🔥🔥🔥 Es

You go to Cangiano’s, and yeah—it’s a little chaotic. You hesitate for a second looking at the menu, someone’s half in line, half not, staff’s moving fast. It’s not polished. But then you get the sandwich, and none of that matters. That sandwich you’re holding? It delivers. The bread is thick, yeah—but it’s doing its job. It holds everything together without falling apart halfway through, which is already more than most places can say. Chicken’s actually juicy. Not dry, not shaved into nothing real pieces. Prosciutto’s there, salty and balanced, not overpowering. Mozzarella is fresh soft, clean, exactly what you want. And then the roasted peppers and oil/vinegar kick in and tie the whole thing together. That’s the bite. That’s why you keep going back in for another one. It’s messy in the right way. Dripping a little, wrapper catching most of it, you leaning over so it doesn’t end up on your clothes. The shop itself? Legit. Menu’s loaded with options that actually make sense, not filler. Meat case looks like they care about what they’re selling. Nothing feels fake or mass-produced. Yeah, it’s a little disorganized, but it’s busy because people know it’s good. Price? $15

Awesome! I've been to this place many times and the food is amazing. The sandwiches are amazing, especially #21. Very friendly staff and cool atmosphere. I totally recommend Cangiano's.

Had been wanting to try this place for a while. Ordered delivery tonight. Prosciutto sandwich with peppers, fig jam, arugula, and mozzarella. Ingredients seemed fresh on the sandwich but the bread was stale. Normally wouldn’t be an issue since it’s a deli and I expect that it hopefully was in the morning. Problem I have is that for $17-18, this is a really sad portion.
